This day tour from Arusha or Moshi takes you deep into the Chagga highlands of Kilimanjaro. Visit a traditional coffee farm, learn how coffee is made from bean to cup, and trek through lush green hills to the breathtaking Materuni Waterfalls — one of the tallest and most beautiful in the region.
Depart from Arusha in the early morning toward Materuni Village, located near Moshi. Enjoy scenic views of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding countryside during your drive. On arrival, meet your local Chagga guide and begin your village exploration.
Take part in an interactive coffee-making experience — from picking, roasting, grinding, to brewing your own cup of fresh Arabica coffee. Enjoy a traditional Chagga lunch prepared by local hosts.
Embark on a guided hike through banana and coffee farms toward the stunning Materuni Waterfalls. Once at the base, take in the spectacular view or swim in the natural pool beneath the falls. Later in the afternoon, drive back to Arusha, arriving early evening.
Transfers can be arranged between the airport, Arusha/Moshi, between hotels, restaurants and attractions, either on a seat-in-coach basis, or the private hire of an entire vehicle.
