Lake Chala is a hidden gem straddling the border of Tanzania and Kenya at the eastern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. This ancient crater lake, fed by underground springs, offers dramatic landscapes — a steep crater rim, lush forests, and shimmering waters that shift in hue. During this day trip, you’ll experience panoramic vistas, wildlife along the journey, canoeing or relaxing by the lake, and views of Kilimanjaro on your return.
Morning – Pickup from your hotel (in Moshi / Arusha region) and depart toward Lake Chala.
Morning – Arrive at the crater rim — take in sweeping views, birdlife and forest walks.
Morning - Midday – Descend to the lake shore for canoeing, swimming or strolling along the shore.
Afternoon – Leisure time to relax, take photos, enjoy nature.
Late Afternoon – Depart back to your hotel, with scenic stops to admire Kilimanjaro

Transfers can be arranged between the airport, Arusha/Moshi, between hotels, restaurants and attractions, either on a seat-in-coach basis, or the private hire of an entire vehicle. All pick-up times are arranged to tie in with flight departures and scheduled tours. Our guides work to this timetable, collecting guests from each hotel en route to their intended destination.
