Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Begin your climb through the lush rainforest on the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail is rich in vegetation, birds, and monkeys as you ascend steadily to Machame Camp for overnight.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2 — Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Leave the rainforest and enter the heath and moorland zone with wide views of the mountain. The terrain becomes steeper but more open as you reach Shira Camp on the plateau.

Day 3 — Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Trek to Lava Tower for acclimatization before descending into Barranco Valley. This “climb high, sleep low” day helps your body adjust to altitude. Overnight at Barranco Camp.

Day 4 — Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Start with the famous Barranco Wall climb, then continue through ridges and valleys to Karanga Camp. A shorter day allows rest and further acclimatization.

Day 5 — Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Trek to Barafu Camp, your final base before summit night. Rest early and prepare for the midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak.

Day 6 — Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Begin the summit climb at midnight, reaching Stella Point and continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrations, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 7 — Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you receive your summit certificate. Transfer back to your hotel, marking the end of your adventure.
