ITINERARY

A breathtaking 7-day journey via the Lemosho Route—one of Kilimanjaro’s most beautiful trails, combining wilderness, gradual ascent, and unforgettable summit views.

Trek Overview

The Lemosho Route on Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the most scenic and less-crowded trails to the summit. This 7-day trek offers a gradual ascent through rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert, giving excellent acclimatization and higher summit success.

The journey leads to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa, making it ideal for trekkers seeking both adventure and strong summit chances.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

Begin your trek on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro after registration at Londorossi Gate. Hike through dense rainforest rich in wildlife and birdlife. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp for dinner and overnight.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2 — Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Leave the forest and enter the heath and moorland zone with wide views of the Shira Plateau. The terrain becomes more open and scenic as you gain elevation. Overnight at Shira 1 Camp.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3 — Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Continue across the Shira Plateau with gradual ascent and stunning views of Kibo Peak. This is a shorter day designed for acclimatization and exploration.

Day 4 — Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Trek to Lava Tower (4,600m) for acclimatization before descending into Barranco Valley. This “climb high, sleep low” day helps your body adjust to altitude. Overnight at Barranco Camp.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5 — Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Begin with the famous Barranco Wall climb, then continue through valleys and ridges to Karanga Camp. A shorter day allows rest and preparation for summit push.

Day 6 — Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Trek to Barafu Camp, your final base before summit night. Rest early, as the summit attempt begins just after midnight.

Day 7 — Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Gate

Start the summit climb at midnight, reaching Stella Point and continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrations and photos, descend to Mweka Camp and continue to Mweka Gate for certificate and transfer.
