A 6-day climb along the iconic Marangu Route to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, offering hut-based accommodation, excellent acclimatisation and unforgettable views.
This 6-day trek on the Marangu Route, commonly known as the “Coca-Cola” route, provides a strong balance of challenge and comfort — staying in mountain huts, taking an extra acclimatization day, and ascending to Africa’s highest peak.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Moshi/Arusha, meet your crew, get a full briefing and rest for the climb ahead.
Drive to Marangu Gate and register at the park. Trek through rainforest to Mandara Hut, with optional side-trip to Maundi Crater.
Climb out of the forest into heath and moorland, reaching Horombo Hut in the afternoon.
Stay a second night at Horombo Hut. Take an acclimatisation hike (for example to Zebra Rocks) and let your body adjust to altitude.
Ascend to Kibo Hut, then in the night push for the summit of Uhuru Peak. After reaching the top, descend back to Horombo Hut.
Descend through the moorland and rainforest, arriving at Marangu Gate. Transfer to your hotel or onward destination.
Transfers can be arranged between the airport, Arusha/Moshi, between hotels, restaurants and attractions, either on a seat-in-coach basis, or the private hire of an entire vehicle. All pick-up times are arranged to tie in with flight departures and scheduled tours. Our guides work to this timetable, collecting guests from each hotel en route to their intended destination.
